Matterdale Parish Neighbourhood Planning Area
The first stage when a community wants to carry out any form of neighbourhood planning is to designate the 'neighbourhood area' which it will cover.
A neighbourhood area application was received by the Lake District National Park Planning Authority from Matterdale Parish Council. After a six-week consultation period the area was designated on 26 February 2014. The Parish Council now have the right to produce their own neighbourhood plan or neighbourhood development orders.
A working group has been established to prepare a neighbourhood plan. The pre-submission consultation on the draft neighbourhood plan took place between 6 October and 14 November 2014. Submission of the neighbourhood plan to the Lake District National Park Authority is imminent.
Matterdale's planning issues are dealt with by the Lake District National Park Planning Authority. For more details see Matterdale Parish on the National Park website.
