Google Analytics -_gat 1 minute Used to throttle request rate. If Google Analytics is deployed via Google Tag Manager, this cookie will be named _dc_gtm_<property- id>.
Google Analytics -_gid 24 hours Used to distinguish users.
Google Analytics -_ _utma 2 years from set / update Used to distinguish users and sessions. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and no existing _ _utma cookies exists. The cookie is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics -_ _utmt 10 minutes Used to throttle request rate.
Google Analytics -_ _utmb 30 mins from set / update Used to determine new sessions/visits. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and no existing _ _utmb cookies exists. The cookie is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics -_ _utmc Expires when you close your browser Not used in ga.js. Set for interoperability with urchin.js. Historically, this cookie operated in conjunction with the _ _utmb cookie to determine whether the user was in a new session/visit.
Google Analytics -_ _utmz 6 months from set/update Stores the traffic source or campaign that explains how the user reached your site. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.
Microsoft .NET websites - ASP.NET_SessionId Expires when you close your browser. Identifies your session to the server.
Modern.Gov - ASP.NET_SessionId Expires when you close your browser. A session cookie used to maintain the user's session while they navigate through Modern.gov. This cookie is essential for modern.gov to work.

Web mapping - atMyCouncil Expires when you close your browser. Identifies the most recent tab you used on My Eden and changes to visibility of panels in My House and My Nearest. Allows us to show the maps as you left them when you return next time.

What we won't do with the data from cookies

  • We will not (and will not allow any third party) to use the statistical analytics tools we employ to track or to collect any personally identifiable information about visitors to our site
  • We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source as part of our use of the Google statistical analytics tool
  • Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by them
  • We will not link, or seek to link, an IP address with the identity of a computer user.
