Homelessness advice and assistance
Free advice and assistance on homelessness is available from the Council's Homelessness Service Team. The Team will attempt to prevent homelessness where possible.
Homeless or under the threat of being homeless?
If you are homeless, or threatened with homelessness, the Council will:
- Interview you and carry out an initial assessment
- Provide a written decision on your application
If you think you are going to be homeless within 56 days, please get in touch with the Homelessness Service Team as soon as possible. We will work with you to explore your housing options and develop a personalised housing plan to assist in preventing homelessness and securing suitable accommodation.
Alternatively you can follow the link https://hpa2.org/refer/EDEN to make an online referral, we will contact you the next working day to make an appointment.
If you have nowhere to stay we may be able to help by making arrangements to place you and your family in temporary accommodation while your homeless application is being assessed.
In an emergency, if you are made homeless outside our office opening times contact our emergency out of hours service on 01229 833311
