Community led plans

What are Community Led Plans?

Community Led Plans, sometimes called Parish Plans, are a means of a community coming together to decide on what they want to improve or achieve in their areas.

The end result of a Community Led Plan is usually an action plan that sets out how the group intend to make improvements to the local area. The actions may be for the group to do or with a partner such as the District Council.

We work alongside ACT (ACTion with Communities in Cumbria), to assist communities who wish to develop their own Community Led Plans. Communities may wish to write their own plan for their area or partner with their neighbouring areas to write a joint plan.

See community led planning on the ACT website to find out more about the support which is available and how ACT can help you develop a Community Led Plan.

See community led plans on the ACT website for lists of community led plan for each district in Cumbria including Eden.

What will we do to help?

We will work closely with community groups to help them develop their Community Led Plans and the actions within them.

A Protocol exists between us and the other organisations who have an interest in Community Led Planning, which formalises our commitment to groups producing a Community Led Plan.
