Community Governance Reorganisation Orders

Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007

Notice is hereby given that Eden District Council has made various Reorganisation Orders relating to parishes within the district following a Community Governance Review. We have made the following Orders and they are available for public inspection at the Town Hall, Penrith during normal office hours until 31 May 2019.

The Eden District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) (Ousby and Melmerby) Order 2019

The effect of this Order is to create two new parish councils, namely Ousby Parish Council and Melmerby Parish Council and two new parishes for those areas, with the abolishment of the former Parish Council of Ousby, which covered both areas of Ousby and Melmerby.

The Eden District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) (Little Strickland and Thrimby) Order 2019

The effect of this Order is to incorporate the parish and parish meeting of Thrimby within the parish and parish meeting of Little Strickland.

The Eden District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance (Barton) Order 2019

The effect of this Order is to rename the parish and parish council for Barton as Barton and Pooley Bridge.

The Eden District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) (Greystoke and Hutton) Order 2019

The effect of this Order is to transfer the ward of Motherby from Greystoke Parish Council to Hutton Parish Council.

The Eden District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) (Penrith) Order 2019

The effect of this Order is to reduce the number of parish councillors on Penrith Town Council from nineteen to fifteen.

Each Order comes into effect on 1 April 2019.
