Cooling tower notification

If you have a Cooling Tower or Evaporative Condenser at your premises in the Eden area you must notify Eden District Council. To give notification of your cooling tower, download:

The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992 form (PDF: 51Kb / 3 pages)

and return it to the Food, Health and Safety Team on the details given below. There is no charge for notification.

The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992 apply to all non-domestic premises and require a person who has, to any extent, control of those premises to make notification to the local authority.

If the installation is no longer going to be used, this change also has to be notified. However if the use of the installation is suspended because of maintenance or seasonal shutdown, notification is not required.
