Eden District Council consults on new Economic Development plans

Eden District Council has revealed its new Economic Development framework, ‘Inspiring Eden’.

The Inspiring Eden programme will be implemented to drive economic recovery and prosperity in the district over the coming months and years.

As part of developing this approach, the Council is seeking views on its Economic Prospectus: the document which provides an overview of the vision and priorities, along with a summary of the key work streams that will drive delivery.

Cllr. Mary Robinson, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economies and Enterprise, said, “These are critical times for the local economy.

“It is essential that the Council plays a leading role in bringing together local and strategic organisations behind a concerted effort to support economic recovery, so that local businesses and residents can thrive once more.

“Our vision is ambitious and underpinned by sustainability. The programme will also look to put local communities and businesses at the heart of its delivery.”
