Cumbria’s businesses are being urged to register for the first ever Cumbria Residents’ Open Week, which is taking place between 2 and 10 October 2021.
The initiative has been put together through a partnership of Cumbria’s six district councils, including Eden District Council’s Tourism Team, with the support of Cumbria Tourism and Keswick Tourism Association.
It’s hoped the scheme will help support the business community to bounce back from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic by encouraging Cumbria’s residents to sample the great attractions, venues, eateries, hotels, shops and more on their doorstep.
Joint Eden Tourism Manager, Jessica Goodfellow, said; “We’re delighted to be part of this Cumbria wide initiative which seeks to generate increased income to our visitor economy businesses at what is a traditionally a quiet time of the year.
“The week also offers local residents the chance to visit attractions and businesses on their doorsteps, with the added bonus of being entered into a prize draw, if they spend £10 or more.
“There is no cost for businesses to participate, other than donating a prize, which could be free entry, an overnight stay, a free meal or gift voucher.”
Businesses keen to take part can register online at a dedicated website, which will also help residents find participating businesses.
