Council adds new services to My Account
Eden District council has added a range of useful new functions to My Account, its online tool for accessing council services and information.
My Account was launched in July of this year. Since then, nearly 450 Eden residents have used My Account to access information relating to their registered addresses and to manage an expanding suite of services, including refuse and recycling collections and domestic pest treatment.
Registered users have also been able to make online council tax payments, or apply to set up a direct debit for their council tax account. They’ve also been able to report missed refuse collections and changes of address.
The latest services now made available through My Account include the ability to make recycling enquiries, comments and complaints and refuse collection comments and complaints. Registered users can also now request blue refuse bags for new occupiers, as well as make building regulations and planning application payments.
From Monday 12 October, residents will also be able to apply for the Government’s new Self-Isolation Payment and a warm homes grant through My Account.
Eden District Council’s Resources Portfolio holder, Cllr. Karen Greenwood, said: “I’m delighted that so many Eden residents have registered for My Account and are now enjoying improved access to the council’s services.
"My Account users can keep tabs on any applications and reported issues relating to their accounts online. However, they can also choose to receive updates via email, or SMS messages direct to their mobile phones.
"More services and functionality will be added in the coming months as the council seeks to improve its online service provision to the residents of Eden."
