Inaugural Kaber Parish Meeting - 22 June 2017

The inaugural Kaber Parish Meeting is being held on Thursday 22 June at 7pm at Kaber Village Hall, Kaber near, Kirkby Stephen. The agenda for the meeting is outlined below.

Background information:

Kaber Parish Council was dissolved on 1 April 2017 following the District Council’s decision to endorse the findings of a Community Governance Review conducted in 2016. The review was triggered following a request by the Parish Council to review the governance arrangements for the parish. As part of the review the electors of the parish were consulted and a majority supported establishing a Parish Meeting.

Notice is hereby given that an inaugural meeting of the Kaber Parish Meeting will be held at 7.00 pm on Thursday, 22 June 2017 at Kaber Village Hall, Kaber, Kirkby Stephen, CA17 4EF

  1. Election of Chairman
    To elect a Chairman of the Parish Meeting for the 2017-2018 municipal year.

  2. Appointment of Vice-Chairman
    To consider appointing a Vice-Chairman of the Parish Meeting for the 2017-2018 municipal year.

  3. Appointment of Parish Clerk
    To appoint a Parish Clerk for Kaber Parish Meeting and to consider appointing that person as Responsible Financial Officer and to also consider the terms of engagement for such appointment.

  4. Minutes
    To note the minutes of the previous meeting of the former Kaber Parish Council.

  5. County and District Councillor Reports
    To receive any updates from County and District Councillors.

  6. Election of a Trustee for the Kaber School Trust
    To consider appointing a Trustee for the Kaber School Trust.

  7. Election of a Conservator for Kaber and Winton Common
    To consider appointing a Conservator for Kaber and Winton Common.

  8. Election of a Representative on the Kirkby Stephen Burial Board
    To consider appointing a Representative on the Kirkby Stephen Burial Board.

    To consider the Annual Governance Statement for the former Kaber Parish Council.

  11. Appointment of Bank Signatories

    To confirm the budget for 2017-2018 previously agreed by the former Kaber Parish Council.

    To consider a request for a contribution to a new classroom at Kirkby Stephen Primary School.

    To consider the needs for changes to the following documents of the former Kaber
    Parish Council in light of the establishment of the Parish Meeting:
