Caroline Gilbert, British Cycling’s Partnership Manager for Cumbria and Lancashire said: Cumbria: "This brand new programme of free bike rides is coming to Eden District to help people build up their confidence, meet new people and discover the local area by bike.

"HSBC UK Guided Rides are led by British Cycling trained ride leaders along carefully selected routes, and vary in difficulty from easy-going pootles around the park to challenging slogs over the hills."

Eden District Council’s Leisure Officer, Ian Parker, said: "We have rides available for all ages and abilities in the coming months. Cycling is a very popular way to exercise for all the family and what a better backdrop for your ride than Eden’s stunning landscape. The HSBC UK FREE Guided Rides are a great way to socialise as you exercise and have proved to be very popular with those taking part."
