Council Chairman Mary Robinson at the Christmas Carol Service.Excellent musical performances by local schools and Penrith Town Band create a magical evening at Eden District Council’s Chairman’s Carol Service, held at St Andrew’s Church in Penrith on Monday 17 December 2018.

The concert was organised to raise money for Council Chairman Mary Robinson’s chosen charities Hospice at Home, the Great North Air Ambulance and the Penrith Mountain Rescue Team. A collection at the service raised over £456.02 which will be split equally between all three worthwhile causes.

Councillor Mary Robinson, said: "I would like to thank everyone who attended the Carol Service it was a great occasion, with memorable performances by Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, St Catherine’s Primary School and Kirkoswald Primary School and Penrith Town Band. The collection during the service raised money for three fantastic local organisations so well done to everyone for giving so generously.

"The Carol Service couldn't happen without the support of people such as the Revered David Sargent, my fellow Councillor John Thompson and Council Officer Louise Biggs, and Charlotte Ferguson who all work so hard on my behalf, thanks again for your help."
