Job summary

The Council is recruiting a Web Coordinator to maintain, develop and improve the Council’s website and content. The Council has ambitious digital goals and the website plays a key role in engaging and informing customers how to access services and information. It is imperative that the website content is accurate, up-to-date, useful, engaging, impactful and meets all of the appropriate standards.

You will have a hands-on role that contributes to the Council’s aim to provide customer focused, online content in an accessible and easy to digest format. You will use the content management system to develop and improve how we interact with all of our customers and you will champion best practice in web content across the Council, support our web editors and train and support new users.

Essential requirements for the role are a NVQ Level 3 Diploma in web content management, journalism, graphic design or demonstrable equivalent skills and experience in a similar field.

The successful candidate will be experienced in web site best practice, WCAG accessibility standards, the use of plain English, SEO and website analysis tools.

This position is a job share, working Thursday and Friday each week and a relocation package of up to £5,125 is available for this position.
