Job summary

The purpose of the role is to provide technical support for a range of services within the Council’s Environmental Protection Team, primarily in relation to nuisance investigations, sampling of private water supplies, monitoring of pollution and dealing with service requests.

The role involves the implementation of  policies, strategies, plans and systems to ensure the delivery of excellent services to businesses, residents and visitors to the district; to fulfil the Council’s statutory responsibilities for Environmental Protection and Enforcement, and to ensure standards set by other regulatory agencies such as FSA, EA, HSE and HCA are met.

Candidates must have a Level 5 or higher qualification in a related discipline and have a good understanding and knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulatory framework relating to environmental protection.  In addition an understanding of the practical, theoretical and technical knowledge of a wide range of environmental health issues is desirable.

A relocation package of £5125 is available.
