Job summary

The purpose of the role is to provide technical support in connection with a range of services within the Council’s Environmental Protection Team, primarily in relation to nuisance investigations, sampling of private water supplies, monitoring of pollution and dealing with service requests.

Duties of this role include promoting and maintaining a healthy, safe environment for all residents and visitors to Eden, ensuring that risks to people’s health are effectively controlled through regulation and advice, providing regulatory support and advice to local businesses and working with communities to help deliver their aspirations for new housing and cleaner neighbourhoods.

It is essential for applicants to have Level 3 (A level or equivalent) qualification in a relevant scientific subject (proof of qualifications will be required) and demonstrable IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and database packages.
