Job summary

The Planning Development Team are seeking an enthusiastic and well organised person to make an important contribution to the team during a period of transition for this service. The job role is to provide effective administration and technical support to the Development Management section, including the enforcement function. The role includes activity such as assessing whether planning applications meet the legal requirements to be validated (in order for the application to then be determined by a Planning Officer), maintaining data including relevant website pages, supporting the various requirements of the Planning Committee cycle, drafting and sending correspondence and research and responding to various enquiries in a timely manner.

The job is fast paced and varied. You must be able to multi task, work under pressure and maintain your composure. An extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential. You must also have the ability to understand, interpret and apply technical legislation and regulations along with the ability to read and understand maps and drawings at various scales (training will be provided).
