Eden District Council has been successful in its recent submissions to Government for funding to improve our local housing stock under the Green Homes Grant project. The aim is to help homeowners on low incomes, and with high energy costs/low EPC’s to retrofit their homes with energy efficient low carbon measures.
Demand for Green Energy alternatives is increasing, and the Council is pleased to be able to support our local residents through our partnership with E-ON, with the installation of solar panels, air source heat pumps, loft insulation, internal & external wall insulation and other energy efficient measures.
We are seeking a highly motivated officer to lead the delivery of all the HIA services and to play a key role in developing partnerships with other professionals and funders, to ensure the future financial sustainability of the Agency. You will work closely with E-ON to support the delivery of the Green Homes Grant scheme, and also the delivery of mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants.
You should have the skills to manage and motivate the HIA team of Officers; who will be instrumental in collating statistics, liaising with the other Cumbria Local Authority partners, Occupational Therapists, Contractors, the NW Energy Hub and reporting performance to the Government departments including BEIS.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery the Green Homes Grant programme and DFG’s, along with other initiatives delivered by the Home Improvement Agency; ensuring its long term viability and maximizing the Councils access to external funding.
Eden District Council covers one of the most beautiful areas in England but with much of the area consisting of small rural locations, the delivery of housing services remains a challenge. The post holder will work with a wide range of partners, to ensure that we deliver the best possible service to our communities, and that each contributes effectively. There is a need to work closely with colleagues in other Council and Government departments, external organisations, contractors, Housing Associations, and customers and their families.
For an informal discussion about the posts, please contact Louise Jeffery, Housing Services Manager at email@example.com or Tel 01768 212451.
