Eden District Council is delighted to launch its newly accredited Home Improvement Agency “Better Homes@Eden”, with the aim of helping homeowners and tenants who are elderly, disabled or on low incomes to repair, maintain and adapt their homes.
Demand for Disabled Facilities Grants and other home improvement services continue to rise with our growing older population across Eden, and the Council is pleased to be able to support our local residents though statutory grants and discretionary housing support services.
As a result, we are seeking three highly motivated officers; including a Principal Officer to lead the delivery of all HIA services and to play a key role in developing partnerships with other professionals and funders, to ensure the future financial sustainability of the Agency.
We are also looking for an experienced Technical Officer to carry out the appraisal of works and work closely with Occupational Therapists and Contractors, together with a Caseworker who will be instrumental in supporting clients and their families to ensure that they have access to all the eligible grants and help available.
The successful candidates will have the vision to help develop and promote the Home Improvement Agency, ensuring its long term viability and maximizing access to external funding.
Eden District Council covers one of the most beautiful areas in England but with much of the area consisting of small rural locations, the delivery of housing services remains a challenge.
The post holders will work with a wide range of partners, to ensure that we deliver the best possible service to our clients, and that each contributes effectively. There is a need to work closely with colleagues in other Council departments, Occupational Therapists, Contractors, Architects, Housing Associations, and clients and their families.
For an informal discussion about the posts, please contact Louise Jeffery, Housing Services Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or Tel 01768 212451.
