Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to act as a team leader within the Member Services (Democratic Services and Scrutiny) section. This includes taking a lead in activities to support the democratic process and scrutiny functions of the Council, Member development through appropriate in-house training and providing advice and support to a range of stakeholders.

The role is both challenging and varied and requires an experienced and dynamic person to undertake the day-to-day supervision of the Member Services Team and its work. You will be a confident communicator with a proven record of working in a local authority environment and of working with elected councillors to ensure the administration of meetings and scrutiny matters is delivered effectively and efficiently. You will have experience of developing and maintaining constructive working relationships with a wide range of people, advising and influencing others and have good knowledge of the overview and Scrutiny functions.

Occasional evening working is a requirement of the post.
