The Community Toilet Scheme provides grants from a ring fenced budget. The current annual budget is £2,120.00, the Community Toilet Scheme is a partnership with local service providers. It enables local businesses such as pubs, restaurants and shops to work together with the Council to make clean, safe and accessible toilets more readily available to the public.

Any interested provider can apply to the Council for inclusion in the scheme. However, the application will initially be considered based upon location and existing local provision.

The maximum awards will not exceed £500 per annum. If a provider is successfully placed on the scheme, payment will be made once per year after a period of six months.

A Minute of Agreement will be signed by both parties to set up the partnership. The agreement will be for a period of three years, but may be negotiable where this is considered inappropriate. Withdrawal from the scheme can be made at any time by giving three months written notice.
