Details of the Register are available through the Council’s website. The Council is preparing to more widely publicise the Register early in the New Year and is considering undertaking a Call for Sites, with a view to keeping a register of small plots of land that may be suitable for self-build and custom-build projects (Local Plan Policy requires new housing in ‘other rural areas’ to be restricted to affordable housing in an existing settlement of a coherent group of 3 or more dwellings – Policy H1).

If so, please provide a high- level outline to the main methods of publicity the authority has undertaken in that period? [free text]

    Any additional information:

The Council is currently reviewing how it can better promote self and custom-build housing across the Eden District. This will entail, amongst other things: a refresh of the self-build page on the Council's website, its self-build and custom-build registration form and an event aimed specifically at those looking to undertake such a project with relevant industry experts/specialists in attendance.
