The annual accounts that a local authority has to prepare have grown increasingly complex over recent years. This is largely because of the requirements of the Government and more stringent accounting standards. Understanding them can be difficult for trained accountants, let alone the interested layman. Therefore, we have produced a much shortened version of the accounts that includes the key elements of:
