Local Elections May 2019
Elections are to take place on Thursday 2 May 2019 for all 38 district ward seats and all parish council seats in Eden.

Key dates for this election
You can submit nomination papers to the Returning Officer, at the address below, on any day after the publication of the Notice of Election and until the deadline date. We cannot accept nomination papers before we publish the Notice of Election. The Notice of Election will be published on 20 March 2019.
Return of nominations papers
The deadline for returning nominations papers is 4pm Wednesday 3 April 2019. Nomination papers can be downloaded, together with the guidance, from the Electoral Commission website. Anyone wishing to stand as a district or parish councillor must deliver their completed nomination papers to the Returning Officer, at the address below, by this deadline. If we receive any papers after this deadline, they will not be eligible.
Registering to vote
Read information on registering to vote. We must receive all applications to vote in the district and parish election by the deadline, 12 April 2019.
New postal and postal proxy voting applications
Apply for a postal vote before the deadline of 5pm Monday 15 April 2019. Anyone who wants to vote by post, or proxy voters wanting to vote by post, must have applications returned to the elections office by this deadline. Anyone wanting to change the details of their existing postal or proxy vote must also have that information with the Elections office by this deadline.
Ballot papers for existing postal voters and applications received before the 2 April 2019 will be sent from Monday 15 April 2019. Any applications received after the 2 April 2019 up to the deadline of 15 April will be sent on 17 April 2019.
New proxy voting applications
Apply for a proxy vote before the deadline of 5pm Wednesday 24 April 2019. Anyone who wants to vote by proxy must return their application to the elections office by the deadline above.
Lost postal votes packs
The earliest date for requesting a replacement postal vote is Friday 26 April 2019. Anyone who did not receive their postal vote can request a replacement from this date by contacting the Elections office on the details below.
Emergency proxy applications
The deadline for emergency proxy applications is 5pm Thursday 2 May 2019. Anyone who has a work-related or medical-related emergency after the deadline for proxy applications has passed can apply for an emergency proxy until this deadline.
