Preferred housing sites and policies document
The Housing Preferred Sites and Policies (formerly known as the Housing Development Plan Document) forms part of the Eden Local Plan and will shape guidelines for housing developments until 2025, impacting on issues such as affordable housing. It will provide greater detail and clarity to the overarching framework that is identified in the Core Strategy and will allocate sites for housing in the Eden area outside of the Lake District National Park. This will ensure that future housing development meets local need and takes place in a planned way.
Housing Preferred Sites and Policies document consultation
The consultation has now closed.
We consulted on our Housing Preferred Sites and Policies and invited people to have their say. The consultation ran for eight weeks from Friday, 22 February until Monday, 22 April 2013.
The Preferred Sites and Policies document details our suggested sites where homes could be built in the district over the next 12 years. It also includes a number of policies which will be used to determine planning applications for housing development. It takes into account past comments made through the 2007/2008 consultations, though much may have changed in this time, which has been reflected in the document.
Where sites have been assessed for possible inclusion as a preferred allocation, they are set out in separate area profiles. You can view the information by town and village for each site from the list below.
The main document, technical paper which explains the methodology used, information on our Land Supply and a summary of responses to previous consultation documents can all be downloaded from the list below.
