Residents' parking permit scheme

Cumbria County Council issue residents parking permits.

What are residents' parking permit schemes?

Residents' parking permit scheme allows residents who live in a restricted parking zone to park in that area. There are restricted parking zones in Penrith and Appleby-in-Westmorland. Residents need a resident’s parking permit to park in the restricted parking zone where they live.

There are parking permits for each parking zone. Residents can only apply for a parking permit for the parking zone where they live. Residents with parking permits can park for an unlimited length of time in the parking zone shown on their permit.

However, permits do not guarantee a parking space outside a resident's home.
