Volunteer opportunities for museum invigilators
We are looking for volunteers to help invigilate Penrith and Eden Museum’s Lorna Graves Exhibition from March – June 2018. This is a great opportunity to become part of a small friendly team and to help your local museum.
Volunteer invigilators are important for our exhibitions programme as invigilation allows us to borrow works of national significance from key institutions and private lenders. Invigilators play a vital role in providing a warm welcome to museum visitors. A friendly and communicative manner when dealing with the public is important, as is an interest in art and heritage.
A full introduction to your role is provided and support from curatorial staff is available. Volunteers are given the chance to meet one another, as well as being given an introductory tour of each exhibition, at Invigilator Coffee Mornings twice a year.
Both weekend and weekday volunteering opportunities are available. We ask you to sign up for exhibition invigilator slots several weeks in advance but volunteering can be flexible to fit around you.
If you are interested to join our team, or would like more information, please email on the contact details below.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all sections of the community. All parts of the gallery, apart from our upstairs Geology Gallery, are accessible to wheelchair users.
