This website is run by Eden District Council staff, who want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen

How accessible is this website
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
Content - The content on the main website and democracy web pages is responsive. Only the content on home page of the Planning Register and Licensing Register is responsive. The benefit calculator, my Eden and payments web pages are partially responsive.
Text size - You cannot modify the line height or spacing of text.
Tables - the data tables, tables that you can search, display content inaccessibly.
Readability - We are rewriting web pages highlighted by our website checking software (Site Improve) as being more difficult to read. We are using the Hemingway app to score and identify problem areas of text within the web page content.
Images - All images will resize on the website and have alternate text.
Documents - Not all of our PDF documents are accessible. 100% of our documents are machine readable and over 100% are tagged PDFs, although some still have up to four accessibility issues to correct and some have weak or no titles.
Skip content and skip navigation available on main website and democracy web pages.
Keyboard navigation we have worked to improve the tabbing order when navigating using a keyboard, although it is not obvious where the focus is.
Videos - We caption all videos we upload to YouTube.
