Offers of employment
All appointments are subject to satisfactory references.
Some appointments will be made subject to clearances for example Criminal Records Bureau Check (CRB). You will be advised of the need for clearances as part of the recruitment process.
If you are made an offer that is conditional upon clearances being received, the letter will say so and you should not resign from your current employment until the offer is confirmed.
You will receive an offer letter, which will detail the main terms and conditions of employment attached to the post.

A probationary period of six months applies to new entrants to local government service.
Other benefits
Entry into the Local Government Pension Scheme is automatic for which employee contributions are approximately 6% of salary. If you do not wish to join you must elect not to do so before commencing your employment.
Assistance with car purchase is available to officers required to use their cars in carrying out their duties, for which a car mileage allowance
