Disability Rights UK NKS Keys

NKS keys are needed to unlock public toilets which have special facilities for disabled people. These toilets are kept locked and can only be opened with an NKS key. Anyone having a NKS key has 24 hour access to these toilets.

Originally the NKS scheme was set up by the Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR), but following a merger between Disability Alliance, Radar and National Centre for Independent Living, the Disability Rights UK was formed on 1 January 2012 and they now look after the NKS scheme.

Where can I find out where the NKS toilets are?

Disability Rights UK National Key Scheme Guide lists 9,000 NKS toilets and local services throughout the UK.
