Eden Access for All Forum

The 'Eden Access for All Forum' is made up of a variety of people with and without disabilities. Our staff play an active role within the forum providing advice and support in many different areas.

The aims of the Forum are:

  • To ensure that public and private buildings, recreational facilities, streets and shopping centres are accessible for disabled people.
  • To consider the needs of disabled people in the area and look at the facilities available to them.
  • To encourage and advise on ways to improve access for all forms of disability.
  • To bring together the interests of the various groups working for disabled people in the area.
  • To refer the local needs of disabled people to us.
  • To raise awareness of how disabled people can contribute in full to society.

The Forum meets to talk about many different issues that affect disabled people. They also look at recent planning applications to ensure the plans include the needs of disabled people.

Members of the Forum are available on request to provide advice on the needs of disabled people. The Forum will run awareness seminars for small groups, of about 24 people, on request.
