Our Performance

Our performance affects the whole community - our residents, local businesses, partners and visitors. It is important that we are open and accountable about our performance and that you are able to raise concerns about where you think we are not performing well enough.

Our performance is monitored in a number of ways including:

Corporate Plan

The Council's current Corporate Plan covers the period 2011 - 2015. The Corporate Plan will be monitored every three months and a summary of performance will be available every year. Further information is availbale in the Corporate Plan section.

Council Performance Indicators

We collect and report against a number of performance indicators on a regular basis. The majority of the Council's performance indicators are contained within the Corporate Plan.

Comprehensive Area Assessment

The Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), which assessed how well publicly funded bodies were performing in England, was abolished by Government in May 2010. Eden’s last CAA assessment was in 2009/2010 where we were assessed as “Performing Well”, Eden was the only Council in Cumbria to receive this high rating.

For more information, please go to the Comprehensive Area Assessment page where you can also find out about the Council's past performance under the CPA regime.

Data Quality

Our vision for data quality is that we get it right first time - to have the right information at the right time at the right cost. This includes information provided by external agencies.

Good quality information is essential to provide us with the basis to make informed decisions. It is our duty to ensure that the information we use is reliable in order to manage services and inform service users, citizens and regulators of our performance. To find out more about data quality, visit our Data Quality webpages.

Comparison Information

The Council uses a variety of information from other areas to compare how it is performing against other Councils. We also use a range of sites to find out detailed information about the local area, be that Ward population figures, health or police data. This information is used to improve service delivery. For more information on the sites we use visit our Useful Sites for Comparison Information webpage.
