Temporary Bowling Bower installed at Castle Park

The temporary accommodation to replace the Bowling Bower and shop/cafe destroyed by fire at Castle Park in Penrith are now in place.

Eden District Council’s Leader, Gordon Nicolson, said: “I am delighted that the Council has been able to act so quickly to provide suitable temporary accommodation for the Castle Park Bowling Club and Irene Cameron, who runs the café. I am sure this is a welcome boost for the individuals concerned as they prepare for the busy summer season ahead.

“Now the temporary accommodation is in place we can spend the coming months developing a longer term solution, building on the tremendous community spirit that has been show towards the Bowling Club during this period.”
