Feedback wanted about Appleby Horse Fair 2012

Issued on behalf of the Appleby Horse Fair Multi Agency Strategic Co-ordinating Group

With the feedback process already underway following the 2012 Appleby Horse Fair a key meeting has been organised at the start of next month as an opportunity for local people to report their experiences and make suggestions for next year.

Whether you're a local resident, Gypsy or Traveller or a visitor, the Multi-agency Strategic Co-ordination Group (MASCG) would like your feedback. Visit the official fair website www.applebyfair.org to download a form. You can then either print off and post it back to the freepost address provided or email it back to brian.morris@cumbriacc.gov.uk

The meeting, on Monday 2 July, 7pm to 9pm at Appleby Public Hall, will be chaired by Appleby's County Councillor Martin Stephenson, and will be attended by Robin Hooper, Chair of the MASCG and Chief Executive of Eden District Council, as well as representatives from police, trading standards, RSPCA, and Cumbria County Council.

Councillor Stephenson said: "This is an opportunity for Appleby residents to hear about the operational planning for the Fair directly from the coordinating group.

"People will put forward ideas for the 2013 Fair and give feedback from this year's Fair on anything from policing arrangements, traffic management and the regulation of caravan sites, so I’d encourage as many people to come along as possible."

For the last three years evaluation reports - also available on www.applebyfair.org - have been published and these meetings offer the public the opportunity to take part in that process and help improve the arrangements for next year.
