Eden District Council has with effect from 1 April 2012 entered into a new 10-year contract with Enterprise Managed Services Ltd (EMSL) for the delivery of its blue collar services which include refuse collection, grounds maintenance, street cleaning and the Cemetery service.
Councillor Mike Tonkin, Eden District Council’s Environment Portfolio Holder said: “I am delighted that the Council will be able to maintain existing services at an affordable cost, including weekly household refuse collections. Enterprise has been the incumbent contractor for the past 15 years and has worked hard with the Council to ensure a value for money service. Residents in Eden should not notice any difference in the delivery of their services.”
EMSL were confirmed by the Council in December 2011 as the successful contractor following almost a year of negotiation. The winning bid was based upon both cost and quality of service.
Mike Cafferky, Regional Managing Director for Enterprise said: “We are delighted to have been able to build on our existing relationship with Eden District Council and to secure a longer future as its environmental services partner. The signing of this deal reflects our commitment to continual improvement and innovation and gives us the opportunity to build on our already impressive operational performance for the benefit of all residents.”
