At a reconvened Full Council meeting on Thursday 1 April 2010, Eden District Council elected Councillor Gordon Nicolson as the authority’s new Leader.
Councillor Nicolson was the only nomination for the Leader and was elected by the majority of the Council.
In taking up the position, Councillor Nicolson announced his Executive who will support him over the next 12 months until the Council elections in May 2011.

The Leader and Executive will start immediately after the Easter break to take on their Portfolios and begin to look at addressing the major issues facing the Council.
