Penrith Tourist Information Centre

Penrith is a market town rich in history, with Penrith TIC housed alongside the Penrith and Eden Museum in the Old Robinson's School building dating back to 1670.

Our friendly and knowledgeable team are here to help you make the most of your visit and can provide you with all you need to know about where to stay, where to eat, things to do and how to get here. Come and see us while you are here and you won't miss a thing!

Main Services

Quality Assured Accommodation and Booking

We are able to make bookings for Quality Assured accommodation on your behalf (10% booking deposit based on full stay applies.) So if time is short, or you have a particular requirement why not let us do the hard work for you. We also offer the National Book a Bed Ahead (BABA) service.

Comprehensive local, regional and national Information Service

We stock a range of guides, leaflets and information on Eden, including local town guides, walking and cycling leaflets, local bus/train timetables, maps and event and attraction information. We also have information on other areas of Cumbria, The Lake District and other UK holiday destinations.

OS Explorer and Landranger maps

We sell a large range of maps and are stockists of OS Explorer and Landranger covering the whole UK.

Tickets for Local and Regional Events

We sell a wide variety of local event tickets including tickets for the Theatre by the Lake at Keswick, Penrith Music Club concerts and Penrith Players productions.

We also stock National Theatre Tokens - the perfect gift, whatever the occasion.

23 - 26 May, An Evening with Gary Lineker at Penrith Playhouse

Tickets: Adults £8. Concessions £7. Students £4.50

8 - 10 June, Holker Hall Garden Festival

This year the Festival marks its 20th anniversary, with many brand new attractions, entertainment and exhibitors. It promises to be a feast for all the senses; bringing together the very best of gardening, countryside, food and crafts. Tickets: Adults £13. Seniors and Students £11.50

26 June, Henry V by Illyria Open Air Theatre Company  at Hutton in the Forest, Penrith

Grounds open at 6pm for picnics. Please bring rugs or low backed seating. Tickets: Adults £9.50. Concessions £5.

23 August, A Midsummer Night's Dream at Nent Hall Hotel, Alston

Grounds open for picnics from 6.30pm.  Please bring rugs or low backed seating. Tickets: Adults £13.50 Children and Students £9 Family £40

Wide range of guides, books and souvenirs on sale

A wide selection of local guides, DVD's, books and souvenirs are on sale in the TIC.

National Express and Eurolines Ticket Agency

We sell tickets to hundreds of exciting destinations served by National Express and Eurolines coaches. National Express have a number coach services that stop at Penrith, allowing easy travel to other parts of the UK and into Europe.

Other services

We supply RADAR national key scheme (NKS) keys for accessible toilets. This national system offers independent access to disabled people to around 7,000 locked public toilets around the country. Disabled toilets are available in Bluebell Lane, Castle Park and Sandgate.

Access to Tourist Information Centre: Level access to information desk.
