Parking
Penrith offers a number of town centre parking options from pay and display car parks to free short stay on-street parking in Disc Zones (see town map for locations). For these, you need to pick up a ‘clock’ disc, available free from most local shops and the Tourist Information Centre and clearly display it showing your time of arrival. Remember to check the Zone signs as time limits do vary. Every Tuesday, the disc zone in Great Dockray becomes a market site and parking is not permitted between 8am and 6pm.
A new hourly parking charge of £1 will apply in the Council’s Sandgate and Bluebell Lane Pay and Display car parks from 12 September 2011. Full details of the changes are available on the Eden District Council website.
