Shopping and Places to Eat in Penrith

Penrith offers a special shopping experience and prides itself on its range of individual family-run shops with names and frontages unique to the town. Familiar high street names are here too and several shops are in attractive pedestrianised areas. A Specialist Shops leaflet for Penrith is available, for a free copy please contact Penrith Tourist Information Centre.

For fresh local produce, speciality foods and organic produce visit Penrith's Farmers’ Market held on the  third Tuesday of the month in Market Square.

Cumbria is renowned for its high quality food and hand crafted items and a good choice is available from Penrith's galleries, craft shops and in nearby farm shops. Don’t forget to try some famous Penrith toffee and fudge loved by the Royal Family.
