High Cup Wines, located close to the spectacular High Cup Nick, are produced at Town Head Farm and Winery, the only Vineyard in Cumbria. A range of country and grape wines from fruit grown mainly on the farm and in the local area are produced.
The renowned, award-winning Appleby Creamery Cheeses manufacture a variety of cheese and have developed brands to sell in the area such as Eden Valley Organic Brie and Eden Sunset.
For centuries farmers have made the trek into a town or village to sell their produce at market. The lively markets provided essential food supplies and were an important focus for the local community. Today colourful Farmers’ Markets in Orton and Brough are helping to revive the tradition by providing quality produce. Appleby also has an indoor Market on a Friday and an outdoor Market on a Saturday.
