Highways

All the roads within Eden District, except the A66 Trunk Road and the M6, are maintained by CAPITA Symonds on behalf of Cumbria County Council. CAPITA Symonds also maintain road lighting throughout the district. Details of road works are listed on the planned works page of the Cumbria Highways website. Cumbria County Council reporting a problem on the highway webpage lets you report and track a problem online. Problems caused by potholes, dead animals or highway drainage should be reported. You can also report a problem by telephoning the Highways Hotline on 0845 609 6609 or emailing: contact@cumbriahighways.co.uk.

Pavements

Rights of Way

A right of way is legally a highway and anyone can use them at any time. There are different types of rights of way some you can walk on while others you can ride, cycle or drive a vehicle for more information see rights of way.
