Potholes are holes in a road where the surface has been damaged, they should be repaired as soon as possible to prevent accidents. Potholes in Eden are repaired by Cumbria Highways on most of the roads. Potholes on the M6 Motorway are repaired by the Highways agency. If a road is unadopted potholes are usually the responsibility of the nearest resident.
How to Report a Pothole in a Road
Report all potholes to Cumbria Highways on 0845 609 6609, giving details of the location, street and postcode if possible. Alternatively you can report a pothole online using the Cumbria Highways Fault Reporting system.
