Who sets planning application fees
Planning application fees are set by Central Government for planning consent. The fees can be complex, and often dependant upon the nature of the development proposed. Please refer to the scale of fees (PDF: 143Kb / 7 pages)which outlines the cost for all types of development.
Alternatively the Planning Portal website has a fee calculator which may assist you in determining the cost of your application. It takes the form of a series of 'yes or no' answers from which data is compiled to calculate the total cost of the application; ranging from a simple householder development to large scale schemes such as housing schemes or industrial estates.
Who do I make cheques payable to
Payment can be made by cash, cheque (made payable to the Eden District Council) or by debit/credit card. Please remember to include your fee payment otherwise your application will not be valid.
