Clubmark

Clubmark is an accreditation standard for sports clubs with junior sections.

The development of Sports Clubs that encourage young people to take up sport, improve their talents and stay in sport is an essential part of the nations sporting infrastructure.

Clubmark was introduced by Sport England to ensure that Sports Clubs offer high quality, child focused opportunities that are performed in a safe environment.

Clubmark accreditation is awarded to Sports Clubs that comply with minimum operating standards in four key areas:

  • The Playing Programme

  • Duty of Care including Safeguarding and Protecting Children

  • Sports equity and Ethics

  • Club Management

As a single national standard Clubmark helps to give Sports Clubs the following benefits:

  • Club Development

  • Increased Membership

  • Better Qualified Coaches and Volunteers

  • Raised Profile

Sports Clubs working towards Clubmark accreditation can receive support and advice from their National Governing Body and Cumbria Sport. The Council has trained Support Officers in Eden who can also provide advice and guide your club through the process.
