Stones Circles Landscape Art

Penrith Museum, Robinson's School, Middlegate, Penrith, CA11 7PT

penrith museum's poster for the 'Stones circles landscape art' exhibition
The Neolithic and Bronze age people changed the landscape forever. This exhibition creates an encounter between ancient artefacts and some specially commissioned contemporary art. Traditional archaeology records and interprets the past, however art work offers an alternative view. It is one of the largest collections of Cumbrian prehistoric artefacts ever to be displayed, and includes Bronze Age urns, pottery fragments, flint artefacts and Neolithic stone axes.

Some of the artwork on display is also for sale, please ask in the museum for further details.

Showing from 14th April - 31st October 2006
Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 4.30pm
