Penrith Museum is hosting an exhibition of art
work created by members of Penrith Hospital Art Group over the last
two years. The group's membership is drawn from Penrith Hospital
and the Lonsdale Unit. On display is work from their study of
Egyptian art, Native American art, Picasso and other modern art
influences, Celtic designs, flower and still life studies. The

Lonsdale Unit praised the excellent work on show and added: 'The
art group continues to provide an ideal therapeutic opportunity for
people. Research is suggesting that health benefits from
undertaking creative activities.'
Artist Karen MacDougall, who has selected the
work for display, supports the group at their weekly sessions.
'This exhibition has provided a wonderful focus for the group who
are delighted to show their artwork in this space.' Karen
MacDougall, artist. The group is very grateful to Penrith Hospital
