In 2007 we were successful in securing a grant of £200,000 from the BIG Lottery Fund to support the installation of nine new children's play areas in Eden as part of the national Children's Play Programme.
The Council worked with the Eden Play Partnership and local communities to develop a portfolio of play projects which are being supported by the grant. The portfolio was agreed on the basis of the best fit with the Eden Play Strategy.
The portfolio of play projects will be delivered over a three year period between 2008 and 2010 and includes play areas for:

The projects will provide a mix of traditional children's play equipment aimed at younger children and multi use ball walls which are aimed at younger teenagers.
Once completed the play facilities will be available free of charge.
