The Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DiGS) is a charity
funded scheme funded by various statutory and voluntary agencies,
and is managed by the Citizens' Advice Bureau. It has been set up
to help people over 16 years in the Eden area who are in receipt of
state benefits or on a low income to secure privately rented
accommodation. DiGS provides a deposit guarantee of a maximum
amount equivalent to one month's rent in the form of a written bond
to cover the deposit required by a landlord for damage or theft.
Funding may be available for rent in advance, please enquire with
DIGS.
