We collate a wide range of housing related data in order to build a robust evidence base to inform internal and external policies and strategies.
We work with a number of partners including:
- Cumbria County Council;
- Government agencies such as Supporting People;
- Regional development agencies;
- Local strategic partnerships;
- Housing developers and providers;
- Research and intelligence bodies, including those with expertise in rural housing issues.
Affordable housing need

Strategic Housing Market Assessments
The Council has worked in partnership with the five other Districts and Cumbria County Council to produce Strategic Housing Market Assessments (SHMAs) for the Counties 20 Housing Market Areas, four of which are in the Eden District. This collates evidence on demographics, housing needs and economic development to give a detailed profile of residents and their future housing needs. Parish Housing Needs Assessments
We are working with Cumbria Rural Housing Trust to carry out a housing needs assessment in all the parishes in the District.
