Half Term Holiday Sports Programme - Special Offer

This February's half term holiday sports programme special offer is buy one get one half price. The programme runs from Monday 13 to Saturday 18 February at Penrith and Appleby Leisure Centres. Activities include: Multi Sport, Bowls, Cardio Gym, Climbing, Dance and Swimming Pool Programme.

Turning empty properties back into homes

The Council has a range of help available to turn empty properties back into homes for local people. Owners of empty properties can access grants of up to £20k to help refurbish their properties and realise some valuable income through renting them to people registered on the Choice Based Lettings Scheme for a minimum of five years. Get your free home energy survey - Cumbria Affordable Warmth Partnership

Eden residents can get a free home energy survey, which will identify how they can make their home warmer this winter. The Council is working with the Cumbria Affordable Warmth Partnership and E.on to offer the free home energy surveys. Find solutions and apply for funding to realise your community's ambitions

Community Solutions is a new section of our website, it contains information about how local communities are developing solutions to address their needs. Case studies and 'How-To' guides are available to help community groups develop ideas to start projects in their neighbourhoods. Many organisations have applied to the Eden Community Fund for grants to kick start their ambitions for their local area. Read more about Community Solutions.

Council Leader's Public Surgeries

The Council Leader's next monthly public surgery is on 28 February. It will be held from 11am-Noon at the Town Hall, Penrith. No appointments are necessary; members of the public can simply turn up at the Town Hall and ask to see the Council Leader, to discuss any local issues or areas of concern. Cumbria Choice Based Lettings is used to allocate properties by Cumbria's local authorities and housing organisations. If you register with them you can bid for a home by phone/texting and on Cumbria Choice - Choice Based Lettings website.
