The Cumbria A-Z is a joint project between Cumbrian councils to develop a single A-Z covering all public sector services in the county. It also includes a large number of national public sector and regional voluntary services.
The A-Z is available for download in XML format
The main bodies covered are:
- Cumbrian local government
- NHS
- Police
- Fire and Rescue services
- Lake District National Park
- Coastguard
- Chamber of Commerce
- Central government services such as DirectGov
Although in its early stages the project is already seeing clear benefits:
- a consistent A-Z for councils across the county to use,
- an automated upload for LocalDirectGov, reducing the amount of time spent on ensuring our services are synchronised with them
- a public xml feed for public re-use
