Garden waste makes good compost for more details see home composting. If you cannot compost your garden waste you can put it in a garden waste bin or take it to a village garden waste skip see details below.
Garden Waste Bins
Garden waste bins are provided to 17,608 housholds in Eden. You can put grass clippings, plants and flowers, leaves, hedge prunings, twigs, small branches, real Christmas trees and weeds into the bin. For more information, telephone 01768 817817 alternatively email: customer.services@eden.gov.uk.
Collection of Garden Waste
Garden waste bins are emptied every two weeks between the months of March and November and once a month from December to February. Participating households will be supplied with a calendar telling residents which day their bin will be emptied. If you have not got one or have lost your calendar, further copies can be obtained from Customer Services telephone 01768 817817. If you need an additional waste bin complete the online form to purchase an additional garden waste bin.
Problems with Garden Waste Collection
Customer Services will handle any problems with garden waste collections. For example, if your bin is missed during a regular collection day or you have a difficult item that will not fit in your bin. Real Christmas trees (without decorations) can be placed next to the bin for collection.
